Lydian Sky is a Seattle-based collective blending neo-prog, hard rock, psychedelia, and art rock into cinematic soundscapes built on melody and atmosphere.
The project is led by Scott Carness, a Berklee-educated producer, engineer, and astrophotographer. What began as scores for astronomy films grew into a full musical universe, with producer Chad Shlosser (Polyphia, Billy Gibbons, Slash) and drummer Rich Lambert shaping the debut EP Nebula. Sammi Garett (Adrian Belew, Jerry Harrison) and Rusty Knorr joined in 2023, expanding the project's range.
The current lineup is Scott Carness (keyboards, guitar, bass), Claire Balcom (vocals), Steve Magennis (guitar), Chris Wilke (bass), Rusty Knorr (drums), and Bob Gale and Jon Pardue on keyboards.
Their latest EP, Pink Aliens in Tahiti, is out now. The band is currently touring the Pacific Northwest in support of it.
