MOTHS

MOTHS is a doom and progressive metal band from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Formed in 2018, they draw on progressive, stoner, and doom metal alongside jazz, death metal, and black metal.

Their 2022 album Space Force earned wide critical support. Septem, released August 1, 2025, followed as the heavier, darker record. Recorded in Buenos Aires and mastered by Jens Bogren, it takes the Seven Deadly Sins as its frame to examine excess and human struggle.

Septem arrived with major press behind it. Decibel Magazine premiered the album in full, MetalSucks spotlighted the single "Gluttony," and Metal Injection named it a top release of the week. The band followed with an East Coast U.S. tour closing at Somergloom Festival alongside SUMAC, Chepang, and Mourne, then completed their first international run in Mexico in November 2025.

MOTHS has shared bills with The Ocean Collective, Circus Maximus, and The Well, played festivals across the Americas including Heresy Fest in Argentina, and opened for Avenged Sevenfold at the Coliseum of Puerto Rico in January 2026. They hold strong followings in the Northeast U.S. and across Latin America.
